history

Michael began playing piano at the age of 7. After several  years  of lessons, he started playing weekend gigs regularly before     enrolling in college. Following his graduation from UCSD he put  his Economics degree in a drawer & began playing music full  time. Styles have included rock, psychedelic, blues, r&b, country  country-rock & some standards. Michael lists his strengths as  classic rock, country & country rock with his favorite being  country rock in the vein of The Eagles, Buffalo Springfield and  Crosby, Stills & Nash. He is also a lead & harmony vocalist.

Throughout his career Michael has done numerous recording sessions, special events, & some concert tours, as well as a stint  with The Cascades (from "Rhythm Of The Rain" fame). He has also backed up several major artists such as Danny & The Juniors,  Bobby Bare, Tex Williams, Ferlin Husky, Dennis Yost (of The Classics IV), Leroy Van Dyke as well as tours with Warner Brothers  artist Chris Cummings, Canadian artist Shirley Myers, and Jett Williams (daughter of Hank Williams Sr.) out of Nashville. He's  played many cruise ship gigs as a member of a band or duo in the Carribean, Alaska & Hawaii with Princess Cruises, Holland  America, Carnival, Celebrity, and Disney Cruises.

In the 1970s his songwriting collaboration with Gary Puckett generated a cut titled "Gentle Woman" on his Columbia Records  solo  album & is also featured on the Gary Puckett & The Union Gap CD "Looking Glass".
In addition to his original compositions, Michael sings & performs an extensive list of cover material. View song list
